Since there is no obligation to specialize in Turkey, all lawyers can actually work as criminal lawyers. The lawyers referred to as criminal lawyers are lawyers who have developed themselves in this field. Criminal lawyer is the person who provides legal assistance to people under suspicion of crime during the investigation initiated after the committing of the criminal act and the prosecution phases starting with the acceptance of the indictment. The reason why criminal cases are so important is that the people who commit crimes are likely to have their freedoms restricted and economically damaged at the end of the trial.
