Every Turkish citizen who does not fall under one of the conditions listed in Article 16 of the Regulation on Firearms, Knives and Other Tools titled “Conditions Preventing the Grant of Weapons License” and who is over the age of twenty-one can purchase a weapon for their possession.
Those who want to get a gun license in order to keep them, apply to the Provincial Governor’s Office with a petition. Following the completion of the required documents, a Possession License is given to those who do not have an obstacle, provided that they pay the necessary fees and taxes.
WHO IS GIVEN A CARRY LICENSE?
The license to carry a gun is given to the following persons:
Persons whose life is in external danger,
Members of certain professions such as members of the press, contractors, gas station owners,
Some public officials such as lawyers, notaries,
Those who have the authority to dispose of the police duty,
Those working in protection, maintenance and repair works in the state, municipality, private administration and state-owned enterprises,
Those who have a relationship with money (For example; jeweler, money changer, etc.)
Those who hold special positions,
Some retired civil servants,
It can obtain a transport license in cases specified in the law.
